Three ways to attend Blackboard workshops

With Angel scheduled to go off-line in August, faculty are encouraged to start preparing their Blackboard Learn course spaces for fall semester. To assist, WSU’s eLearning Services is offering two workshops this week. Faculty can attend in person, online or in videoconference rooms at the branch campuses.

  • Content at 9 a.m. May 20 (Van Doren 108 and by video conference)
  • Communities at 11 a.m. May 21 (webinar)

Students intending to do their final exams during the summer should be aware of these important deadlines:

Application for degree must be submitted by May 29, 2015.

Final Exam Scheduling form must be submitted by July 17, 2015

The last day to conduct final exams is July 31, 2015

This year’s Beekeeping Workshops are scheduled for July 10-12, 2015.

The Beekeeping Short Course will begin with registration and social on Friday July 10th.  The next day’s events will start at 8:00 AM.  The course will cover bee biology, pest/disease identification, colony management, honey bee IPM, and gloveless beekeeping. The format is a combination of instruction and hands on demonstration. Bring a bee veil, comfortable protective clothing, and lots of questions. Instructors: Steve Sheppard, Susan Cobey & WSU Bee Lab. graduate students.  Registration fees $125

Sunday, July 12, 2015 will be the Queen Rearing workshop.   This workshop emphasize hands on instruction in queen rearing methods, with lecture and demonstrations. Students will be involved in various steps including: setting up cell builders, grafting, and establishing mating nuclei. Both queen right and queen-less systems will be demonstrated. Participants should bring a bee veil and comfortable protective clothing. Instructors: Steve Sheppard, Susan Cobey & WSU Bee Lab. graduate students.  Registration fees $175

The Entomology Annual Meeting will be August 13 – 14, 2015 in Wenatchee.
