OBJECTIVES OF COURSE

  • To provide the student with practical, hands-on experience in beekeeping.

1   Colony inspection, colony development, pollen collection,
    plant identification
1   Colony inspection, swarm control, mite control, disease recognition

1   Colony inspection, requeening, winter provisions, honey removal
1   Honey extraction, handling and processing

7 (3 hours each) labs

GRADING CRITERIA

  • Assignment (colony management, inspection) 50%
  • 1 Final Oral/Practical 50%
