Course Objectives:

  1. Comprehend the role of biological control in integrated pest management as practiced in agricultural and urban ecosystems.
  2. Learn how to enhance indigenous and nonindigenous biological control organism impacts on pest populations.
  3. Develop an appreciation for biodiversity and the complex interactions between pest and beneficial organisms within ecosystems.

*The examinations in the course will be developed using a short essay format and will require the students to exercise their information synthesis, critical thinking, and writing skills.

**The term paper will follow prescribed guidelines set forth by the instructor and will assess the student's analytical, information acquisition, computer literacy, and scientific writing abilities. Students will be required to orally discuss the selection of their term paper topic and receive the instructor's approval before proceeding with the paper's development.
