Physiological Interactions in Predatory/Prey Relationships

OBJECTIVES OF COURSE

    Students will be introduced to the intricate physiological and behavioral adaptations that have evolved in the interaction of predators and their prey.

1	(2 Hours)	Humans as Predators through time.
2 & 3	(3 Hours)	Carnivores as effective predators.
4	(2 Hours)	Avain and fish (Pisces) predators and their prey.
5	(2 Hours)	Amphibian and Reptilian predators and their prey.
6	(1 Hour)	Insects as a general predator.
7 & 8	(5 Hours)	Insects as specialized parasitoids of other insects.
9			Final Examination.

GRADING CRITERIA

  • A 2 hour oral examination worth 200 points will be administered according to Brown, 1992 "How to Overcome the Closed-Door Syndrome". College Teaching 40: 101.
