Crab
Lice
The crab louse, Pthirus pubus (L.),
is considered
a filthy human parasite, which it is! Crab lice
are related to Head Lice, but are
more apt to be associated with lack of hygiene.
Toilet seats are not the cause.

Body contact with a clean, known partner will prevent
“crabs” and other nasty things. These lice are rare
now days, but are associated with a certain side of
Town. The same MD recommended treatments will
work. Prevention is 99% of the answer on this one.
Tongue in cheek – I recently attended an Entomology
Meeting in Florida and University of Florida students
were selling the tee shirts in the photo. There were
several seminars on crab lice at the meeting! |
