On April 5, 2002, we dedicated the new Biocontrol Greenhouse Facility. Over $250,000 in improvements were made to the existing insectary complex, including two entirely new greenhouses. We also added modern centralized computer controls to all four greenhouses. The greenhouses are used in support of the Safe Food Initiative, which seeks sustainable solutions to agricultural problems in Washington. Special thanks to Northwest Farm Credit Services, who supplied initial funding for this facility, and Deans Pete Jacoby and Jim Zuiches, who got the project through the system.
