CAHNRS Announcements

CAHNRS Career & Internship Networking Night is on Monday, October 2, from 5-7 p.m. in Ensminger Pavilion. There will be over 30 companies participate and over 150 students participated in 2016.  This exciting networking opportunity provides students the opportunity to meet with organizations one-on-one to talk about internships and careers in agricultural, economic, and natural resource sciences.

Grants 

Entomology Department grant awardees:

  • Brandon Hopkins and Walter Sheppard are the recipients of a $13,000 grant from USDA/APHIS/Plant Quarantine to conduct Honey Bee surveys (9/26/2017).
  • Doug Walsh is the recipient of a: $35,000 grant from the National Alfalfa & Forage Alliance for work on Integrated Pest Management and Pollinator Protection on Alfalfa Produced for Seed (9/22/2017); $13,963 from the Western Alfalfa See Growers to work on Alfalfa Seed IPM (09/22/2017); $7,000 from the Washington Hop Commission for Hop Entomology Research (9/13, 2017); and $13,200 from UC-Davis IR-4 to study the Magnitude of Pesticide Residue Trials (9/12/2017).

This October, the three candidates interviewing for the Tree Fruit IPM Entomologist Tenure Track faculty position will be available for graduate students and staff to join for lunch in Pullman following their seminar in T0101 (calendar invite attached).
