Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management

The Entomology Department Undergraduate Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management (IPPM) Certificate is designed for individuals who want to advance their professional knowledge in the management of plant and arthropod pests and pollinators across a variety of ecosystems. The 18-credit certificate is designed to address ecosystem management in agricultural, urban, and natural settings; plant and arthropod biology and management; environmental impacts of pest management; federal, state, and regional policy surrounding pest management and the pesticide industry. Courses are rooted in the fundamentals of plant and arthropod biology and ecosystem management and are tied directly to industry and regulatory standards.

This certificate is ideal for individuals studying entomology, agriculture and food systems, pest management, biological sciences, environmental and ecosystems sciences, landscape architecture, greenhouse and nursery management, environmental engineering, wildlife ecology and conservation sciences, and environmental policy.

To complete the IPPM certificate, students must take five required courses (15 credits), and at least three credits from a list of approved electives including one lab.  

• 15 credits required courses: CROP SCI 305; ENTOM 343, 351, 461; IPM 452.
• 3 credits (including a minimum of 1 lab credit) from: ENTOM 344 (lab), 361, 362 (lab), 460, 465, 490
