OBJECTIVES OF COURSE
- To present the fundamentals of entomology, insect structures
and functions, classification, development, behavior and ecology.
- To instruct in recognition of the major families of beneficial
and injurious insects and related arthropods.
- To outline and discuss methods of insect control.
- To provide information about the major pests of crops, livestock
and man.

classes of arthropods and their economic importance.
4 - External morphology and mouthparts of insects, internal anatomy
and physiology of insects.
1 - Insect metamorphosis, embryonic development and immature forms.

3 - Insect ecology, major environmental factors and their effects,
population dynamics, sampling, and economic injury levels.
9 - Methods of insect control, biological control agents, insecticides
and insecticide problems, pest management concepts and principles.
5 - Major arthropod pests of crops, livestock and man, collecting
and preserving insects.
