Aug 19: Dr. Mark Hoddle (UC Riverside): Mark is an extension biocontrol specialist who worked onthe Asian Citrus Psyllid and Citrus Greening – and can tell us why California fared differently than Florida.
Sep 9: Dr. Kim Hoelmer (USDA-BIIR): Kim is a veteran of the USDA Beneficial Insects Introduction Lab – importing biocontrol agents is what he did for a living. Learn what it’s like. Via Zoom
Sep 16: Dr. Paul Abram (AgCanada, Agassiz, BC): Paul is one of the rising stars in the development of ecological theory of invasive pests and their natural enemies…with street creds in discovery of adventive populations. Via Zoom
Sep 30: Kent Daane (UC Riverside): Kent has run the marathon from foreign exploration to APHIS permit to a nationwide release program of an exotic parasitoid of an invasive pest. Whew!
Oct 7: Dr. Tara Gariepy (AgCanada Ontario): Tara developed the field of molecular forensics for exotic and native parasitoids – they leave their DNA fingerprints behind! Via Zoom
